Jon Cardo. I grew up going to the Elgin First Baptist Church. Through much discipleship from First Baptist members and opportunities throughout our church ministries to grow, I developed a personal relationship with Jesus and a love and passion for serving him. After I graduated from Valley High School I attended the great university of Iowa State in Ames, IA. I quickly was connected with a church and great college ministry in Ames and my knowledge of God and my love for Him continued to grow. On the great day of July 7th, 2007 I married my amazing wife Jodi (White) Cardo. In 2010 we moved back to Elgin and have been loving every second of it.

VISION & CORE VALUES
Vision Statement: To glorify God through knowing Christ and making Him known.
Mission Statement: To glorify God as we keep Jesus Christ central in our ministry of making disciples. We will strive to do this through Biblical teaching, Prayer, Witnessing, Worship, Fellowship, and Encouraging each other on to Holy Living.
Core Values:
1. We believe in the one living and true God: eternally existing in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (1 Peter 1:2)
2. We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, eternal and inerrant. (2 Timothy 3:16)
3. We believe that all are sinners, and that sin is a violation of God's will which separates us from God. We can receive salvation through repentance of sin and a personal decision of faith in Christ's death, burial and resurrection. (Romans 5:1)
4. We believe in the literal existence of heaven and hell. Those who repent of their sins and accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior will spend eternity in heaven; those who do not will spend eternity in Hell. (Revelation 20:15)
5. We believe Christians are to care deeply for others, bearing one-another's burdens. (Galatians 6:2)
6. We are committed to reach others with the gospel of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 18:19-20)
7. We are committed to be a people devoted to prayer. (Acts 1:8)
8. We practice baptism by immersion as a declaration of the believer's confession of faith in Jesus Christ. (Romans 6:4)
